Contract Design Consultant, manufacturing and development engineering. Aston Martin Interior Trim. Seating designs and user interface designs using leathers, plastics composites, plastics and veneers for high value precision low volume products
July 2008 –Oct 2008 Magna seating limited.

Contract Design Consultant. Seating design and User interface including prototype manufacturing involvement for demonstration build vehicles.

Jan 2007 – May 2008 TMD Technologies

Prototype Mechanical design and manufacturing Office Manager. Radar transmitters, and receivers. Majority of time spent costing and managing the design and product engineering team, along with prototype and first article manufacture keeping to budget and time-line. As this is a military based company I was security checked and all work I produced is recorded and treated with secrecy.

June 2006 - January 2007 Western Thomson Plastic (Magal group)
Position was of Design/Test Project Engineer. Tier one automotive supplier of
thermostats and plastic thermostat housings for diesel engines. Involved Design and Prototype manufacture including testing and the associated tooling manufacture and design associated.

Oct 2004 - June 2006 TMD Technologies

Nov 1994 - Oct 2004 E.M.Tool Co Limited
Management, design and manufacture of special purpose tooling. Qualified here through a full apprenticeship to be involved in all aspects at some stage of my development such as design and manufacturing including the use of machine tools such as Lathes, Mills and grinding machines, welding, hardening, stress analysis and material selection.

Conclusion

As you can see from my engineering past I have acquired many skills including project management, supervisory management, design and engineering.

I have in recent years made the decision to centre my continued efforts on my Marine interests. Although this is the line of work i currently pursue i am still passionate about engineering so freelance work associated with engineering within the marine industry is always a  welcome avenue.
